What Blixt is

Blixt is file-transfer software — a desktop app, a local web UI, and a CLI — plus the hosted services that support it: the signaling service that matches peers, a relay for when no direct path exists, and bCloud storage. The software runs on your machines, and direct transfers move data between them without passing through us. By using the software or the hosted services, you accept these terms.

Your account

Some features require an account. Give us accurate information — plan limits and billing depend on it — and keep your credentials to yourself. Activity under your account is your responsibility.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are monthly subscriptions billed through Stripe. You can cancel anytime: your plan keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for, then stops. No cancellation fees. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period; upgrades apply immediately. Current prices are on the pricing page.

Acceptable use

Do not use Blixt for anything illegal — transferring or sharing content you have no right to distribute, distributing malware, and the like. You are responsible for what you transfer and what you share. The honest flip side of our architecture: we cannot see the content of direct transfers, so we cannot moderate them — responsibility for that content is entirely yours. We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the hosted services (the signaling service, the relay, bCloud, share links).

Free plan and published limits

The free relay is throttled to 1 MiB/s — a deliberate, published cap, not a surprise. Per-plan transfer and storage limits are listed on the pricing page and enforced by the service.

Availability

We run the hosted services with care, but on self-serve plans they are provided best-effort, with no SLA. Maintenance or outages can interrupt signaling, the relay, and bCloud. LAN mode works with no server at all, and a self-hosted signaling hub removes the dependency on our infrastructure entirely.

Liability

Blixt is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected to the service is limited to the fees you paid us. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and we do not guarantee against data loss — keep copies of files you cannot afford to lose.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For meaningful changes we will give notice — email to account holders and a note on this page — before they take effect. If you do not agree with a change, stop using the service and cancel your subscription; continuing to use Blixt after the change takes effect means you accept it.
